Freedom Optimist softball

Registration for the Freedom District Optimist Girls Softball League will be held Jan. 24. Registration will be held at the Freedom Optimist Community Hall, Route 32, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The league features slow pitch for Pre-K and kindergarten (ages 5-6); grade one and two; grades three and four; grades five through seven; and grades eight through 12 (including girls that are 18 years of age and still attending high school).

For woman 18 and older there is a slow-pitch league that runs May to July. Registrations will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. There will be a late fee assessed for registrations after Jan. 24. Call 410-795-2782; go to www.eteamz.com/fdosoftball or e-mail fdosoftball@gmail.com.

Freedom Firebirds take flight

The Freedom Firebirds Girls 12-under fast-pitch softball team is seeking players. Pitchers and catchers have already started practices for the upcoming season and the full team practices begin in January at Liberty High School.

Adult fast-pitch softball

Registration for the Freedom District Optimist Adult Fast-Pitch Softball League will be held Jan. 17, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Freedom Optimist Community Hall on Route 32. Coed, women's slow-pitch

The Freedom District Optimist Slow-Pitch Coed Softball League will host registration Jan. 17, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Freedom Optimist Community Hall on Route 32. The league is a sandlot-style league without umpires for adults 18 and older.
