Cabin fever - Bear Branch
Nature Center, 300 John Owings Road, Westminster, will host its annual
Martin Cabin History Hike on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Take a walk
back in time with a hike to Martin Cabin. See the inside of the log
cabin and discuss what life was like before Hashawha. For ages 6 to

Sundae Sunday - The annual Ice
Cream Sundae Social at the Union Mills Homestead, 3311 Littlestown
Pike, Union Mills, will be held 1 to 4 p.m. The Music by the
Littlestown Municipal Band, as well as face painting, a clown, wagon
rides and tours of the historic Shriver Homestead and Grist Mill (for a
small fee). Stone ground flours from the mill can be purchased.

KingTeddy on stage - The Month
of Sundays concert series at Westminster City Park, off Longwell
Avenue, Westminster, continues Sunday, 6:45 to 9 p.m., with KingTeddy
performing swing music in a outdoor concert. Free, but donations of

cleaning supplies — will be collected to benefit the Human Services
Programs of Carroll County Inc. Bring lawn chairs and blankets for

Winfield Fire Company Carnival opens Monday and continues through
Saturday, July 16, 6 p.m. to midnight, at the fire department grounds,

Potter parties - Harry Potter
Hoopla will be held at the Mount Airy Library, 705 Ridge Ave., Mount
Airy, 2 to 4 p.m., for all ages. In celebration of the final Harry
Potter movie, put on your Hogwarts finery for a Potter party. Enjoy
wizarding fun and games and Hogsmeade refreshments. In addition, the
Taneytown Library, 10 Grand Drive, Taneytown, will host Harry
Potterpalooza, also from 2 to 4 p.m., for all ages. Come in costume, if
desired, and visit Hogwarts and Diagon Alley. Crafts, activities, games
and magical snacks.
Musical project - The Tom
Garmin Project, featuring Westminster’s own “music man,” Bob Coffey, as
well as Melody Workman on vocals, Michael Hirsh on drums, Dan Vogel on
guitar and Dan Aitken on bass, will perform in a free concert at 6:30
p.m. at the Westminster Library, 50 E. Main St., Westminster.

Books and music - Westminster
Library, 50 E. Main St., Westminster, will host a Picnic Party in the
Park and book sale extravaganza on Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4
p.m., for all ages, in the Mary Lou Dewey Sculpture Park outside the
library. Friday will include a noon concert by the Andy Poxon Band; and
Saturday will feature a dance demonstration, also at noon, both on the
stage in the park.
24Karat rock - The Sykesville
Concerts in the Park series continues Friday, 7 to 9 p.m., with the
group, 24Karat, featuring acoustic, electric, classic and modern rock,
and “Miss Lorraine” on vocals. Held at Cooper Park, Springfield Avenue,
Sykesville. Free. The park’s playground and snack bar will be open.

Through the Mill - A Civil War
Encampment and Living History will take place Saturday and Sunday at
Union Mills Homestead, 3311 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, 10 a.m. to 4
p.m. each day. Union and Confederate troops camp along the Big Pipe
Creek and relive some of the days following the Battle of Gettysburg.

Fair Preview - On Saturday, 10
a.m. to 2 p.m., Town Mall of Westminster, 400 N. Center St.,
Westminster, will host Fair Day at the Mall, a preview of the events

Shelly and Drew - Nashville
Recording Artist Shelly Rann, with guest Drew Stevyns, will perform
country, rock and adult contemporary music in a performance at The
Carroll Arts Center, 91 W. Main St., Westminster, on Saturday at 7:30
p.m. Rann has had her songs featured on the NBC shows “The West Wing”
and “Third Watch,” while Stevyns is a former Sykesville resident who
advanced to the top 10 in the show, “America’s Got Talent.” Tickets are
